Lake Tahoe beaches

With a multitude of beaches and picnic areas to chose from, you will never run out of shoreline to wander along on beautiful Lake Tahoe. The following is a list of beaches and picnic sites and what the areas have in them.

NORTH SHORE:

Agatam Beach: SR 28, Tahoe Vista, Agatam Street.

Here you will find 300 feet of beach and lots of lush green lawn to play on. Picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available.

Kings Beach Recreation Area: Located at the center of Kings Beach.

They have a playground, grass, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available.

North Tahoe Marina: Tahoe Vista on SR 28.

There is a boat launch here, and no restrooms.

North Tahoe Regional Park: Located in Tahoe Vista.

Playgrounds, hiking trails, volleyball, softball, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available.

William B. Layton Memorial Park: Tahoe City.

This area has a rocky shore, lots of grass, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available.

As a added bonus here you will find the Gatekeepers Museum.

SOUTH SHORE:

Emerald Bay Beach: Emerald Bay.

Available here is a boat dock, lots of hiking trails, picnic area and tables, restrooms, Eagle Falls, and Vikingsholm Castle.

El Dorado Beach: Between Rufus Allen & Timber Cove.

A playground, boat launch, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available.

Camp Richardson Beach: SR89, 2.5 miles north of the “Y” in South Lake Tahoe.

Here you will find a playground, boat launch, miles of biking trails, hiking trails, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available. On the site you will find museums, and interpretive centers for the area.

WEST SHORE:

D.L. Bliss State Park: SR89, south of Meeks Bay.

A sandy beach and miles of hiking trails are available here. Picnic benches, fire pits and restrooms are available.

Meeks Bay campground: Ten miles south of Tahoe City.

Boat launch, sandy beaches, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available.

Sugar Pine Point: North of Meeks Bay.

Museums, a fee pier, lots of grass, rocky shoreline, artifacts, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms are available.
